Adrian, Shawn's oldest brother missed the first game he plays football. I'm not sure who had more fun at Shawn's first game him or us, but I am betting on us. Things learned at the first game: be prepared to laugh and smile till it hurts, bring lots of quarters for ice pops, it is possible to use a video camera, a camera, hold a drink, and cheer all at the same time (next time I am bringing the tri-pod), be ready for tons of questions after the game. I loved answering the questions after the game, while walking back to the cars: yes I saw that...yes I got your picture when you did that...yep we have a movie of your first game, yes I'm going to tape more of your games, yes I plan on being at all your games. But one of the best parts was the big bear hug & amazing smile on his face "Yes Shawn, I am very proud of you & I love you too."
If baseball makes my nephew this happy I think I am going to love the game and learning all about it from my wonderful nephews. I can just imagine how Aunt Bea felt when Opie was giving all the reasons he needed to keep her.
