Sigh

Yahoo Image

To me this is one of the most powerful images I have found online; and today this is a perfect image to use as a reflection.

If you have never been there at the moment someone you love has to start facing the aspect of death; No, the near certainty of death you probably won"t understand this. There is almost nothing more humbling or heartbreaking, nor a more helpless a feeling than holding your loved one in your arms as they cry; yet all the while you are torn between feelings of despair and the need to be their strength & comfort. There is perhaps never a time that will draw you closer to God as you look for strength and guidance and your own comfort while you attempt to comfort others.

The person you have always looked to for protection &/or to hear say "It's okay, you're safe and there is nothing to worry about...I'm here " is now looking to you for that same protection and reassurance and all you can do is say I love you . "I'm here and I'll take care of you" . Because you know you can't honestly tell them it will be alright.

The only things you can do is 1. Pray & trust the Lord will guide you through this cancer battle and he will send Strength and Comfort, and 2. try to remember you aren't given more than you can bare and there is a purpose for everything according to His will.

One of my dearest friends promises me the caregiver comes out of this a stronger person, I'm trusting he's right.

Quotes from The Notebook

The best love is the kind that awakens the soul; that makes us reach for more, that plants the fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds. That's what I hope to give you forever.

Summer romances end for all kinds of reason. But, when all is said and done, they have one thing in common - they are shooting stars, a spectacular moment of light in the heavens, a fleeting glimpse of eternity and in a flash they are gone.

Allie: I need to ask you something.
Noah: What is it sweetheart?
Allie: Do you think that our love can create miracles?
Noah: Yes I do. That's what brings you back to me each time.
Allie: Do you think our love can take us away together?
Noah: I think our love can do anything we want it to.
Allie: I love you.
Noah: I love you Allie.
Allie: Good night.
Noah: Good night. I'll be seeing you.

Rainy days

If you love the rain like I do one of the best parts of living in the country is rainy days and nights. Yesterday it rained most of the day & night, and there is almost nothing better than the sound of raindrops hitting the window panes and the rain falling on a tin roof. The exception being the added sound of thunder rumbling in the distance.
Its harder to feel and appreciate the rain when you live in town or the city. Everything is too hetic & noisy and it would be almost impossible to escape back to your childhood days of playing in the rain. Remember catching raindrops on your tongue or eyelashes, splashing in puddles, or kicking water out of puddles. Here you can walk as fast or as slow as you want in the rain taking time to stop and listen to the sound of the rain falling through the leaves on the trees or watching raindrops fall in puddles. If you want to relive childhood memories of playing in the rain no one thinks anything of it, they may even stop and be silly with you. :)
I spent my afternoon curled up, by the wood stove, under my favorite blanket watching it rain and daydreaming.

The weatherman is calling for a chance of snow tomorrow--the first of the year I can hardly wait.
